May Adoption Promotion

May has brought us even more rain, color, and greenery in our Colorado outdoors. We have handsome multi-colored cats at our shelter to equal the beautiful May flowers in our gardens and open spaces.   These cats, like all of our furry residents, would love to find a forever home with a caring family.  In honor of our colorful cats, we have an adoption special on all multi-colored cats 1 year and older this month.  Please stop by and meet our May flower felines...you might find your special friend!

Please visit our Facebook page for more information.

Visit our website to view all our cats available for adoption.

Note: our standard adoption  screening process applies to this promotion. Further, for cats age ten and older and cats with chronic medical problems we offer our Perpet-U-Care Program which provides
$250 of veterinary care services at the CCS Cat Clinic annually.
Opt To Adopt Jet

Jet is ready for his forever home!  He is a sweet 8 year old boy, who is looking to be the king of his castle!  Jet had been living with his special person, until the senior owner passed away.  One of his friends took Jet in, but he was allergic to him and wasn't able to keep him.  Jet is a healthy boy, but it turns out that he doesn't like other animals at all!  We tried him in several different rooms in the shelter, but he didn't settle down until he got a room of his own.  Jet loves to socialize with humans, and he is what we call a "social eater".  That means he eats better when he has someone with him, talking to him or sharing a meal with him.  He is very friendly and outgoing, as long as he is the only cat.   If you are looking for a cat who truly wants to bond with a human, Jet might be the one for you.  Please come in and visit with this special boy!

You can read more about Jet on his adopt-a-pet page:

Seminar -
Feral or Stray Cat?....How To Tell the Difference

Presenter-Heather Allen, Executive Director
May 27th, 2017 10:30AM to Noon at Cat Care Society (in the lower level of main shelter)

Spring is the season when we start noticing many more cats living outdoors.  They are out and about with warmer weather, and kitten season is in full swing.  This seminar will help you tell whether you are dealing with stray felines or feral cats, and how to best help them.  Other topics to be covered include how to handle these cats, and the trap-neuter-release program (TNR)

More Information:
Please call 303-239-9680 or email:

This is a complimentary seminar.  Even if you do not register early, please feel free to attend.  There is always room for more.

Cat Care Society offers King Soopers Gift Cards which may be purchased at the shelter for $25. You may load funds onto the card at any King Soopers or City Market, and use it for any purchases at the store, except for gift cards.  CCS receives 5% of your total bill, and you get the benefit of the entire purchase.  So far, Cat Care Society has received over $42,000 from this program.  It really helps our cats and is an easy way for you to contribute!

2017 Tails of the Painted Cats
The 2017 Tails of the Painted Cats Summer Tour continues at Art of Life Gallery. The Painted Cats will all be on display until May 24th, and it's a great opportunity to view the unique artistry of the Painted Cats.

The Summer Tour will continue through September 1st and our next Gallery Show will be at Main Street Fine Art in Evergreen starting May 26th. Tails of the Painted Cats Gala Dinner and Auction to be held September 16, 2017 at Pinehurst Country Club from 5 to 9 pm.

We still need sponsors for tables at the September fundraiser, and we are hoping for both more individual and corporate sponsors.

After the Main Street Fine Art gallery, the cats will be in residence and available for viewing at three more locations this summer.
