News from the Shelter
We have had 28 adoptions so far in November, and we hope that more of our cats will find their forever homes this month.  The holidays can be very good time to bring love and a home to a cat in need.

The cats at Cat Care Society have new furniture!  We purchased shelves for every room of the shelter, and the cats have lots of wonderful new perches where they can climb, jump, and watch the world go by, (or just nap).   They are really enjoying the new options in their home here at Cat Care.

Every cat at Cat Care Society is microchipped to the shelter, and it is an invaluable tool in caring for our cats.  Jarvis, who was adopted from us as a kitten, was recently brought to Denver Animal Shelter as
a stray.  They were able to trace him to CCS through the microchip, and notified us that he was there.  We brought Jarvis back to our shelter, and began treating him for kidney disease and high blood pressure.  We have high hopes that he will find a new home soon.

Earlier this month, Denver became the second major city outside of California to ban the declawing of cats.  Cat Care Society is very pleased with this much needed change!

November Adoption Promotion

Even though Thanksgiving is past, the season of giving thanks is still here.  Those of us who know the joys of living with cats are very grateful for their love and companionship.   Please consider adopting a cat into your family and share the blessings of home with a sweet feline !  We have an adoption promotion on ALL cats throughout November.

Please visit our Facebook page for more information.

Visit our website to view all our cats available for adoption.

Note: our standard adoption  screening process applies to this promotion. Further, for cats age ten and older and cats with chronic medical problems we offer our Perpet-U-Care Program which provides
$250 of veterinary care services at the CCS Cat Clinic annually.
Santa Paws Festival 2017
December 2nd and 3rd
10am to 3pm
This weekend!

It's finally here!  Please be sure to attend our annual Santa Paws Festival which will be held this coming weekend on Saturday, December 2nd and Sunday, December 3rd from 10-3 at the Cat Care Society Shelter.  (Please note the new hours this year)

This is a great opportunity to shop for special holiday gifts and stocking stuffers, especially cat related items.  We have a terrific array of special gift items and handcrafted creations as well as a well-stocked bake sale of delicious goodies.  Included in the bake sale are peach, blueberry, and strawberry preserves, and a varied selection of salsa, cheese, and pickles. While at the festival, you can also participate in the Christmas Ornament Drive and Sue Sioux's Silent Auction & Raffle.   The auction features six themed baskets and the raffle offers a chance at a $500 clinic services coupon.  Ol' Santa Paws himself will be making an appearance, passing out treats to children, and will be available for photos.  Please don't miss this wonderful family event, and benefit our cats!

Click here to see some of the items that will be available at the festival!

If you are donating baked goods, please remember to deliver them to the shelter on Thursday, November 30th between noon and 5PM or no later than Friday, December 1 at noon.
Please contact Jane Dorsey if you have any questions. Click Here to email Jane or call 303.239.9680 x19

Colorado Gives Day
December 5, 2017
Colorado Gives Day is exactly one week from today, and this is one of the most important events of the year for Cat Care Society!  Non-profits all over the state benefit greatly from the generosity of Coloradans, and CCS counts on this support in a big way.  This annual day of giving helps us all year long in our mission of caring for as many homeless, neglected, and abused cats as possible.

We need your support on December 5th!

If it isn't convenient to schedule your contribution on the 5th,  you can schedule your 2017 donation now: CLICK HERE

Opt to Adopt Murtaugh
Murtaugh is a handsome boy looking for his forever home! Murtaugh is a senior, but is outgoing and has a big personality. He would do best in a home by himself as long as he receives lots of human attention. He really enjoys love and affection from his
human friends. He absolutely loves cuddling up with his favorite human for some prime together time.  Murtaugh needs to be on S/O food for bladder

health. The good news is that this food costs about the same as a premium quality food!

Murtaugh is part of our perpet-u- care program! Please click the link to find out more:

King Soopers Shopping Card

Baking, cooking, and decorating are in full swing for many of us, and a wonderful way to make your preparations and benefit our cats is to use a King Soopers gift card.  Cards may be purchased at our shelter for $25.  Every time that you add funds to the card, Cat Care Society receives 5% of the funds to help our cats.  You will still have the entire amount available for your purchases.  This is a significant  source of funding for us, and it is so easy to do.  Please reload your card if you have one, and consider buying one if you have not yet.

The Hallway Cats at
Cat Care Society
The hallway cats roam freely throughout the upper level of the shelter, and several make up the welcoming crew at the Front Desk.  We currently have 13 hallway cats, and we would like to introduce you to several of them today.

Santa Fe is an adult male who has spent most of his life on the streets.  He's still learning to relate to humans, but so happy to be safe.
Putter is paired with Driver, and came to the shelter when his humans couldn't care for them anymore.
Driver, Putter's best friend, came to the shelter with him.  They both want and need a loving permanent home.

Mallory is a long haired 4 year old female who likes petting and laps, but only on her timetable!
Cassie is a senior who lost her home after many years.  She has always been the only cat in the home, and will still insist on that.
Gizmo, a senior lady, is at Cat Care for the second time after losing her nice home.  She loves head scratching from humans, and must be the only animal in the home.

Christmas Ornament
Donation Drive

Our Christmas Ornament Drive begins this Friday, December 1st.  Each of our cats now has a beautiful handmade ornament bearing its picture.  You can sponsor one or more cats with a $5 donation for each.   This can be done at the shelter, or beginning December 1 you can sponsor online.  Your name will be put on the back of the ornament and it will be displayed in the shelter lobby. Your donation will go in full towards the care of the cats in our shelter!

Our goal is to have all of the cats currently in our care with Christmas ornaments sponsored this December!

Once all of the CCS cats have their ornament sponsored the next phase of the drive will begin -  to see which cat has the most sponsorships and is crowned King or Queen of the CCS Christmas Ornament Drive!

NEW THIS YEAR: After we crown our King or Queen, you can purchase your favorite CCS cats Christmas Ornament for $10 to display on your very own Christmas tree!
