Dean helps companies, principally but not limited to manufacturers, find optimal locations for future operations when they are ready to expand throughout North America. As he likes to say, he takes clients where they need to be.
On the economic development side, Dean advises organizations on how to better leverage their strengths while addressing certain weaknesses. Specialty areas include business retention and expansion (BR&E), site certification and what he calls the Barberbiz Review, a modified SWOT analysis and target industry assessment.
Dean has graciously offered to do four one-on-one meetings with conference participants. The four time slots are on June 28 at:
- 8:00 A.M. (during breakfast)
- 10:20 A.M. (during a break)
- 1:15 P.M. (during a break)
- 5:00 P.M. (after the last session of the day)
If you would like to meet with Dean during the conference, please email Amy Evancho at aevancho@fedc.net with the time slot you would prefer. In order to keep it somewhat manageable, we will try to pair requests by FEDC region. Please note, these four times are the only available meeting times.
Once the slots are filled we will e-mail you to confirm your meeting and its location. These meetings will be self-guided so we would encourage you to come prepared with any questions you may have for Dean. We hope this will be a valuable addition to your conference!
