Guatemala Seminar - Los Angeles International Textile Show - March 27th
The Guatemala Trade Office hosted a seminar at the Los Angeles International Textile Show: "Why Guatemala? The Duty Free Sourcing Hub". The California Fashion Association ('CFA') organized the seminar; it included a renowned panel of Guatemala's industry leaders and CFA experts regarding the supply chain of services available from Guatemala. The panel, moderated by Walter Wilhelm, Chairman of Walter Wilhelm Associates, discussed speed-to-market from Guatemala's fashion-garment industry, among other benefits to sourcing from Guatemala. Guatemala plays a key role in CAFTA sourcing, and is the 'hub' for all supply chain requirements in the region, including garment testing.

Brand Identity Seminar -Los Angeles International Textile Show- March 28th
The CFA hosted a seminar entitled "Maximize and Expand Your Brand Identity Using Licensing, TV/Film, Video Games, & Digital Media" at the Los Angeles International Textile Show. Ilse Metchek, CFA President, made a brief visual presentation on Intellectual Property Rights, and moderated the panel. Industry experts included, Staci Riordan of Fox Rothschild LLP, Moshe Tsabag of Velvet Heart, and Todd Kaufman of Beanstalk Brand Management.

CFA Member Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production (WRAP) Names Avedis Seferian as New President and CEO 

Avedis H. Seferian, currently the Vice President of Compliance and Administration for Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production (WRAP) was named President and Chief Executive Officer by WRAP's Board of Directors following a three month national search.

"Mr. Seferian's experience at WRAP over the past seven years coupled with his leadership skills and educational background made him the best choice for the Board," said Charles C. Masten, Chairman of the Board.  Mr. Seferian succeeds Mr. Stephen Jesseph as CEO. Mr. Jesseph retired in December 2011. Click
