CFCE staff will email you suggested ideas of what to do , mostly outdoor activities, with their child in that particular season, along with a list of nature items to collect, and then a craft idea to create by using them !! Read & Roll: This is an engaging activity for the whole family!!! Dad's, Mom's and school-
age children!!! CFCE is collaborating with WHITMAN CAROUSEL FUN CENTER to offer this activity!!! Email Carol to REGISTER - please include Child's name & address. The children are asked to read 5 books and mail CFCE a short summary and picture of the book(s) they have completed- one at a time. CFCE will tally their participation and when all   five books and activities are completed, they will be mailed a book mark certificate stating the reading completion. This will enable them to go , with the certificate, to CAROUSEL FAMILY FUN CENTER in WHITMAN to get one FREE admission to the roller skating rink- FUN,FUN,FUN!!! We will be engaged in a variety of activities and books that help us explore how sound is made. Come join Carol Carver - Early Childhood Support Specialist- from Self Help, Inc. Coordinated Family & Community Engagement Program.  Drop In Playgroup:  Parents (Dads, Moms, Grandparents- EVERYONE) can chat together, children can engage in toys and practice their social skills as well as -music-and- manipulatives together, and everyone will have some FUN!!!  The Playgroup will run for approximately 45 minutes- with free play lasting about 15 minutes and then songs, stories, simple art and parachute play/tunnel play will be offered towards the later part!  Activities are geared for 2-4 yr olds.

Voices in the Orchestra (three session series)@ Middleboro Public Library

Come and learn the Voices in the Orchestra! Voices in the Orchestra is a program for school age children ages 5 and up and their caregivers, which include parents , grandparents, guardians and informal caregivers, to explore the different sounds the instruments make in the orchestra and how they can help bring stories to life. This three session program introduces the children to the various voices in the orchestra (strings, woodwind, brass, percussion, and keyboard sections) and stories that use orchestral music to bring characters to life. 
Session 1:  the children will learn about the orchestra in general, session 2 includes listening to a recording of Make Way for Ducklings narrated by the late Senator Ted Kennedy and backed by the Boston Landmark orchestra. In session 3 the children will watch a piece of the movie Fantasia and be challenged to identify the instruments that they hear in the movie. The children will strengthen their listening skills as well as their knowledge of music through participation in this program. If you cannot attend all three session choose the one that means most to you! Moove & Groove ...3 week series for 3-6 year olds @ Whitman Public Library

REGISTER by contacting the Children's Librarian at   781-447-7613.   Move N'Groove: Do you want your kids to dance, learn exercise and have fun all at the same time? That's what Move N'Groove is all about! It is a creative exercise program series for 3 gatherings for children ages 3 to 6 years  and is designed to help children develop self-confidence, encourage healthy living and promote problem-solving skills. It gives the children plenty of opportunity to dance and jump around - just what kids love doing best! We want all kids to learn good exercise habits early!

ON THE MOVE SUMMER SERIES: Families will come together to cool off during the hot summer months- 4 weeks- and be engaged in cool down exercises as we involve everyone in songs, moving to music, Nursery Rhymes, finger plays, I Spy games, peer chat time as well as cool down exercises, breakfast snacks, play time at the indoor play space. A story read-aloud time is allotted to end the ON THE MOVE TIME together each week!!!(activities are geared for 2-4 year olds).

Drop-In Playgroup @ Mansfield public Library

Come join Carol Carver - Early Childhood Support Specialist- from Self Help, Inc. Coordinated Family & Community Engagement Program.  Drop In Playgroup:  Parents (Dads, Moms, Grandparents- EVERYONE) can chat together, children can engage in toys and practice their social skills as well as -music-and- manipulatives together, and everyone will have some FUN!!!  The Playgroup will run for approximately 45 minutes- with free play lasting about 15 minutes and then songs, stories, simple art and parachute play/tunnel play will be offered towards the later part!  Activities are geared for 2-4 yr olds.

The children are asked to read 5 books and mail CFCE a short summary and picture of the book(s) they have completed- one at a time. CFCE will tally their participation and when all   five books and activities are completed, they will be mailed a book mark certificate stating the reading completion. This will enable them to go , with the certificate, to CAROUSEL FAMILY FUN CENTER in WHITMAN to get one FREE admission to the roller skating rink- FUN,FUN,FUN!!! Voices in the Orchestra 3 session program @ Rockland Public Library

Come and learn the Voices in the Orchestra. Voices in the Orchestra is a program for school age children ages 5 and up and their caregivers, which include parents , grandparents, guardians and informal caregivers, to explore the different sounds the instruments make in the orchestra and how they can help bring stories ti life. This three session program introduces the children to the various voices in the orchestra (strings, woodwind, brass, percussion, and keyboard sections) and stories that use orchestral music to bring characters to life. The first session the children will learn about the orchestra in general, session 2 includes listening to a recording of Make Way for Ducklings narrated by the late Senator Ted Kennedy and backed by the Boston Landmark orchestra. In session 3 the children will watch a piece of the movie Fantasia and be challenged to identify the instruments that they hear in the movie. The children will strengthen their listening skills as well as their knowledge of music through participation in this program. The Art and Science of Puppetry (3 sessions) @ Middleboro Public Library

Come and learn all about puppets! In this three session program the children will learn about different types of puppets. They will make several different types of puppets and help construct theaters to put on a show. Session one will be an introduction to puppets. The children will be provided with materials to make a puppet to use in the show. Session two will focus on shadow puppets. The children will create shadow puppets and begin to develop a shadow puppet show. The third session will include a puppet show created by the children. Families are invited!
