Hand Therapist Peer Mentoring Manual
Using the Hand Therapy Certification Commission's Test Blueprint for Hand and Upper Limb Patients as a framework, the Hand Therapist Peer Mentoring Manual has been developed as a tool that can be used by occupational therapists and physical therapists seeking to gain the advanced knowledge and clinical skills required for the specialty of hand therapy.
The purpose of HTCC's Self-Assessment tool is to allow individuals to review and reflect on their knowledge of hand therapy in order to determine learning goals and activities.
The self-assessment is divided into four areas. Each area may be taken individually and a separate report will be generated based on the results of your self-assessment for each category. The four areas are:
HTCC conducted a survey of therapists who passed the Hand Therapy
Certification Examination in 2005 or 2006 to gather information about how
successful candidates prepared for the examination, so that future candidates
might benefit from their advice. Email invitations were sent to 653 therapists and
254 completed the survey.
