Earlier this week, we said goodbye and congratulations to the members of Class of 2015. While tomorrow will be the last day of school for our freshmen, sophomores and juniors, we look forward to seeing all of them back in August and are already preparing for their return.
The 2014-2015 school year has been eventful. We:
- renovated and reopened Marianist Hall with easier parent access to admissions and business offices;
- hosted teachers from four high schools in the state throughout the year to tour the CJ STEMM Center and experience our STEMM courses;
- welcomed international speaker and author Immaculee Ilibigiza, who shared with our students her story of faith and survival;
- celebrated with athletic teams' trips to state
including womens' golf, swimming, indoor track, the mens' basketball team, which finished as semi finalists in the tournament, and our rowing team which qualified for nationals;
- honored Sr. Dorothy Stang, SNDdeN '49 on the 10th anniversary of her martyrdom and accepted the challenge to continue her work for peace and justice;
- welcomed more than 120 professionals and educators to participate in CJ STEMM;
- honored students for volunteering, as a school, more than 11,112 service hours above the requirements;
- welcomed representatives of the Marianist General Administration from Rome;
- announced our international student program and began recruiting our first group of students; and
- initiated renovations to Building One, expected to be completed by August.
This list doesn't begin to capture all the excitement at CJ this year, and we know that the 2015-2016 school year promises to be another exciting one for the community. We look forward to what lies ahead for our students, teachers, and parents, and pray everyone has a safe summer.
God bless, and Go Eagles!
