January 28, 2016

Monday, February 1 marks the beginning of Catholic Schools Week. This celebration honors Catholic education institutions around the nation. This year's theme is "Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge and Service."

CJ will be recognizing Catholic Schools Week several ways including:
  • a special 3 o'clock prayer said on Monday, Feb. 1. This same prayer will also be said at Alter, Carroll, and Fenwick,
  • Mass at Emmanuel Church on Wednesday, Feb. 3 at 9:30 a.m.,
  • writing notes of thanks and support to some of our Marianist Brothers and Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur during lunch on Thursday, Feb. 4,
  • a donation drive called "Jeans for Teens" which is in conjunction with a Senior Capstone project,
  • and a special CJ reflection read over the PA system each day by a student, faculty or staff member.
On Friday, Feb. 5, students  and faculty will have the option to wear a Catholic Schools t-shirt or sweatshirt. The shirts can be from a Catholic grade school, CJ, or a Catholic college. Students must wear uniform shorts/pants.

We encourage your student to reflect and take part in the week's activities as we focus on the values of a Catholic education and the impact it has on our future leaders.

Finally, thank you for choosing Catholic education for your child.
