This  Friday, Oct. 9 marks the end of the first quarter. Report cards will be available for  parents to pickup on  Thursday, Oct. 15 from  3 - 6 p.m. in the library. This is also when parents may sign-up for parent/teacher conferences which will be held  Thursday, Oct. 22 from  1:30 - 4 p.m. and 
5 - 8 p.m.

Report cards not picked up  will be distributed to students in homeroom on Friday and it will also be available for download in NetClassroom.

If you have any other questions about your child's report card or progress, feel free to contact your child's counselor. Their contact information can be found here.

OFF TO STATE! 

Congratulations to our women's golf team for qualifying for the state tournament. The team won the District II Golf Championship
on Wednesday, Oct. 7. The state tournament will be next week at Ohio State University. CJ's women's golf team has qualified for state every year since 2009.

CJ Marianist LIFE Community is hosting a rally on Saturday, Oct. 10 from 2:30-4:30 p.m. The theme is "Start a Fire 2015." Students are invited to join us for music, community building, talks, and a mini-service project. F ollowing the rally, CJ will host the Dayton Area Marianist World Day of Prayer Mass. Mass begins at  5:00 p.m.  and will be followed by a potluck dinner.  All are welcome to attend both events.

Friday, Oct. 23 is the last day to request supporting documents (letters and transcripts) to go to colleges for the Sunday, Nov. 1 college application deadline. We are strongly encouraging students to apply at least a week in advance and request all materials by October 23.

Retreat Fees
The junior retreat fee of $60 and Kairos fee of $95 was billed to each student who signed up to attend one of the retreats during the 2015 - 2016 school year.  This year, the fee will be due Friday,  Oct. 30  for all retreats.

College Financial Aid Night at CJ
Monday, Dec. 14  |  6:30 p.m.  |  Library
This presentation will cover the overall process of Financial Aid for students planning to attend all colleges and universities. Counselors will be there to help answer any questions you may have. All senior parents and students are encouraged to attend.

Class of 2016
Graduation Requirement
The State of Ohio requires all students complete instruction in Personal Finance before graduation. CJ offers this course online. Students must watch videos and complete readings during this course. At the end of every section, there is a quiz and a final exam at the end of this course. Students must score an 80% or above on all of the assessments. 
Don MacLeod, CJ's Business Teacher, is facilitating this course and sent an email to students' CJ email addresses with directions on accessing the course and completing it. If students have questions, they should  email him.  
Seniors must have the course completed by December 31, 2015.

St. Anthony Oktoberfest
Saturday, Oct. 10 | 5:30 - 11 p | St. Anthony School Gym
In honor of the school's 100th anniversary, celebrate St. Anthony's Oktoberfest on Saturday, Oct. 10 in the St. Anthony school gym. There will be food, drinks,  raffles, a special "walk-thru-history" of the school and more. 
Guests must be 21 or older. Admission is $12 in advance or $15 at the door. Tickets can be purchased in advance at St. Anthony Church after Mass on the weekends of Sept. 20 and  Oct. 4 . For more information, call 253-9132.
