Cyber Security Workshop
The Cape May County Office of Emergency Management along with the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness, Cape May County Prosecutors Office, the Cape May County department of Management Information Services, and the Cape May County Chamber would like to invite you to a Cyber Security Workshop.

This workshop will provide an understanding and awareness of modern cybersecurity threats and their potential impact on individuals and organizations. The presenters will provide attendees with an understanding and awareness of today’s cybersecurity risk environment along with an overview of the vulnerabilities, threats, and impacts of various cybersecurity issues. The presenters will also discuss the role of the NJCCIC and provide an overview of the best practices designed to mitigate and manage risk, with a focus on ransomware, one of today’s most prevalent and destrictive cyber threats. A Q & A session with attendees will conclude the presentation.

A portion of the money raised during Thankful Thursday on January 11th will be donated to the Cape May County Chamber of Commerce Education Foundation.

The Cape May County Chamber of Commerce Education Foundation provides scholarship opportunity to students in Cape May County who themselves, or whose parents or guardians are employed by, or own a business that is a member of the Cape May County Chamber of Commerce.

Advocacy Update
Vicki Clark who also serves as President of the New Jersey Tourism Industry Association has been tapped to serve on the Governor-Elect Murphy Transition Team, Stronger and Fairer Economy Committee. As a member of this committee, Clark will be invited to make policy recommendations concerning the tourism industry and issues related to this $44.1 billion industry. 
The Chamber was represented at a US Travel/NJTIA Roundtable with Congressman Leonard Lance held at Paper Mill Playhouse on November 21. Chamber President Vicki Clark stressed the importance of the J-1 Visa, Summer Work Travel program and the dangers of Seismic Testing and Offshore Drilling with Representative Lance.  The Congressman pledged his support for continuation of the J-1 Visa program and opposition of offshore oil exploration and drilling along the Atlantic Coast.

Discounted 2018 Beach Tags Now on Sale 
Seasonal beach tags for summer 2018 are on sale now for a discounted $20. That price remains in effect through May 31, 2018. On June 1, the price increases to $25.

Beach Tags are required for all beachgoers ages 12 and older and are in effect from June 2, 2018 through September 3, 2018. Only seasonal beach tags can be purchased at this time. Weekly ($10) and daily ($5) tags will be available for purchase on the beach starting June 2.
