Businesses Seeking to Hire New Workers
The Cape May County On-the-job Training Program (OJT) provides an opportunity for unemployed workers to learn a new trade while securing gainful employment. Here’s how.

An employer who hires an eligible unemployed worker receives funding for that training paid for through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act. This means up to half of an employee’s salary is covered during the training period, which can last up to 26 weeks. OJT will help you complete the necessary paperwork to hire and train your new employees. Employers must:
  • Meet minimum OJT hourly wage requirement, $10.00 per hour
  • Contact OJT writer upon job offer
  • DO NOT start employee prior to eligibility determination

Help build your workforce; train new employees and reduce unemployment in our community!
