What's On at the CNE?
Major Attractions  

[NEW] Parkour: Free running, jumping, climbing, swinging, vaulting through an obstacle course and off the sides of surfaces, all propelled by the human body - that's Parkour! This exciting new show will be located west of the Food Building with multiple performances daily!

Celebrity Chef Stage: Our popular cooking stage is back with food and cooking demonstrations, located in the At Home Pavilion, guests will experience demonstrations by celebrity chefs twice daily.

[NEW] X-Pogo: Flying 9 feet in the air on next generation pogo sticks while throwing down flips and incredible tricks, the X-pogo Stunt athletes create crowds in an instant and keep them engaged until the final bounce.

Cents of Taste provides readers of the Toronto Star Newspaper with the opportunity to collect medallion coupons found in the newspaper and trade them in for special promotions in the Food Building!

Food Safety Policies & Procedures 

All Food Service Concessionaires at the CNE MUST: 

1. Be in compliance with Toronto Public Health requirements prior to the opening of the CNE.

2. Operate in compliance with Toronto Public Health requirements at all times.

3. Any infractions identified by Toronto Public Health or the CNE microbiological consultants or its staff must be corrected immediately.

4. Ensure that only properly trained staff in the area of food handling are employed.

5.  All food handlers must complete the CNE Food Handlers Course provided by the City of Toronto Public Health Department or provide documentation of completion of an equivalent certification program. 

6.  Ensure that all staff is in possession of a valid CNE Food Handler Training button or training card issued by Toronto Public Health or a recognized Food Handler Training Certificate. T he Food Handlers Training Button is provided at our complimentary Food Safety Training Session (dates TBC). 

7. Review key food safety procedures with staff and will post in an accessible location the CNE Food Building Handbook on food safety guidelines.

8. Monitor all food operations to ensure compliance with Toronto Public Health requirements.

9. Will ensure the Inspection Notice is posted in a visible location - all notices Conditional or Pass or Closed must be displayed at all times.

10. Will ensure that the latest copy of the Food Safety Inspection Report is available for viewing upon request.

11. Will monitor all food handlers within their operation to ensure compliance with the Expectations for Food Handlers in the CNE Food Building and on the grounds.

12.  All food service operators must provide a list of all food product suppliers.

13. All food service operators must reveal how food products are being shipped and what measures are being taken to maintain temperature control during the shipping process.

Contracted Menu Items 

What's listed on your license agreement is what is allowed to be sold at the 2015 CNE. If it's not approved, it cannot be sold.

The deadline for new food menu items has passed - for more information please contact Jeannette Mintz at jmintz@theex.com or 416.263.3849.

Product Display Controls 

It is important that all related display elements within your leasehold spaces are approved in advance by CNE Management. 

For example ; any food or beverage being displayed in a container or case that directly competes with another concessionaires overall brand presence or concept is strictly enforced.

Ecologizers or High Electrical Consumption Equipment

Any new requests for the use of Ecologizers (temporary exhaust hood machines) in the Food Building will be deniedThe electrical capacity is at its maximum load.  

Anyone caught bringing in high volume electrical consumption equipment into the building, without the prior approval of CNE Management will be fined.  

All new electrical equipment or appliances must be approved in advance, by the CNE and its dedicated electrical team.

PanAM Games Site Restrictions

The 2015 PanAm Games will be held at Exhibition Place between July 1 - 26, 2015 (this time period includes move in / event dates / move out).  Which means access to the Food Building will be restricted.  

Over the next month, we will be contacting you to review your leasehold improvement plans for the 2015 CNE; we want to know whether you will be making any major changes or alterations to your booths.

It is important that you begin reviewing your requirements, based on the Toronto Public Health deficiencies included along with your 2015 License Agreement and any revitalization plans, modifications and/or repairs you intend to make.

This information will help us assess priority access and determine a scheduled move-in date and time for each concessionaire.

Equally, in June; The Honda Indy is scheduled to take place. The Food Building will be closed from June 8 - 15 inclusive due to the track set-up and tear down.

More information will become available, once we have had an opportunity to discuss your plans.
