Students of AVID Program Make Impactful Accomplishments
The Chamber had the opportunity to host a group of 17 bright college bound high school students from the AVID program. The students spent 4 days learning about the business environment and applied leadership, communication, collaboration, and critical thinking skills to real life business situations. The students made outreach phone calls to members, interacted with a former & current mayor, chamber CEO, economic development director, Startup Founder, Ed Tech Executive, Chamber Board Chair, Education Foundation Executive Director. Lastly, the students directed, compiled and created content for our member directory and community guide. Thank you to all the students who were involved. It was such a pleasure to be among future leaders of our community.
