19-20 MARCH 2016
CONGRATULATIONS!

We would like to congratulate all our participants who competed on the weekend at the Warrnambool Sufferfest Multisport Festival.
Some of you may have returned from previous years, and some doing their Sufferfest - whether it be a running or triathlon event. Which ever event you competed in, we value your support and trust you had an enjoyable race and we hope to see you back again next year!

One of the highlights of the weekend was showcasing some of USA's top triathletes vying for Olympic selection at Rio in the RUSHFest on Saturday. If you didn't come down and watch- you missed out on some exciting racing! We have some fantastic footage and photos from the racing here

We have already received wonderful feedback in regards to our hard working volunteers - of which events could not run without them, and the community effort that Warrnambool showed. The local community has a shared passion in the event and are inspired by your efforts, you created a memorable experience for the community and spectators alike, and so thank you again for being a part of this wonderful event.

Well done again on your achievements and for choosing the Warrnambool Sufferfest as part of your triathlon and running racing season.

Here's what others are saying about the event:

"Just wanted to thank you for welcoming all of us at USA triathlon to your event yesterday and making it a great day! We had a lot of fun getting out there and racing in that hot and fast format. Everything ran so smoothly and it was truly an awesome experience. Warrnambool was such a cool place to see and explore; one that we wouldn't have been so lucky to experience otherwise." Molly Higgins, USA Triathlete

"First time tackling Warrnambool Sufferfest and loved every minute of it. Amazing and challenging course, can highly recommend! I'll be back. Thanks Sufferfest for puting on a great event! " Michael Begg- competitor

Seaford athlete Tom Rodgers made the perfect return from a seven-month injury layoff on Sunday, winning his second Warrnambool Sufferfest title in three years.
Rodgers, 23, completed the arduous two-kilometre swim, 80km bike ride and 20km run course in three hours, 36 minutes and 39 seconds.
Geelong competitor Levi Maxwell (3.38.26) was second and Bendigo visitor Fraser Walsh (3.39.40) third.
Rodgers suffered a broken collarbone in a training mishap in June last year and started full training in January.  He said his first race back was "really tough".  "It was good to be back racing," Rodgers said.  "I am stoked, couldn't be happier."

Congratulations to all competitors in each event over the weekend! A fantastic effort from everyone involved, and well done again to our podium placegetters.
