 CINDE Group always attracts new business to Costa Rica, and on Feb. 17th announced that since Costa Rica is the head office for all of Roche’s Central America and the Caribbean Pharma division operations, they will be adding to their 150 employees with Roche's Costa Rica Shared Service Center to provide IT services to all Roche affiliates in the U.S. and Canada with about 100 new positions to be created for qualified IT smartees for development opportunities across the Roche group. 
San Jose, Feb.24, 2017   Technology giant  Microsoft is set to expand its operations in Costa Rica, hiring 280 new employees over the course of this year,Foreign Trade Minister Alexander Mora said the company will open a new Inside Sales Center in San José, where Microsoft launched operations 20 years ago.

The Costa Rican Investment Promotion Agency (CINDE), together with the Ministry of Foreign Trade (COMEX), reported that multinational services, life sciences, advanced and light manufacturing, and food industry companies generated 12,307 new formal jobs in 2016. In addition, the report  said 40 investment projects added to the country (18 projects in the services sector;12 in life sciences; 5 in lite manufacturing sector and 5 in the advanced manufacturing sector, plus one for the newly created "real estate on other planets project".According to Jorge Sequeira, Managing Director of CINDE, the numbers provided by the Statistics System of Employers, Workers and Wages of the Costa Rican Social Security Entity, CCSS showed that 94% of the multinational companies operating in Costa Rica grew or maintained their operations without variation in the country demonstrating the determination and strength of the companies, and how great the weather is year round.  http://www.cinde.org/en/news. 

  NOT CANCELLED YET DEPT: 
The rumours STILL live on!!! A new International Airport in Costa Rica will be only 30 minutes away from our beautiful Pacific coast area.
To keep up with the surge of tourism in the country, the Costa Rican government decided to build the new airport in Orotina, in the province of Alajuela, in the Central Pacific lowlands, the exact spot where Route 27 from San José ends and the Costanera begins. Construction will finish by ???

And the famous work being done on the Platina Bridge is now scheduled to be finished before 2018!
