Iona Senior Services

Savills Studley's Wendy Feldman Block has been on the board of directors of Iona for 9+ years, including 2 as chairman, and is currently an active member of the board of associates. This year, Iona marks 42 years of service to greater Washington's older adults and family caregivers. Its mission is to support people as they experience the challenges and opportunities of aging. "We educate, advocate and provide community-based programs and services to help people age well and live well." Every year, Iona directly helps 3,000 older adults and their families by caring for, connecting and nourishing people in mind, body and spirit. There are so many ways to get involved: donate to the 'loan closet', sponsor a food or product drive or volunteer your time. Experience the joy of giving back!

Special Olympics DC

Brookfield's Dave Bevirt and his Brookfield colleagues are big supporters of Special Olympics DC. Six years ago, Brookfield became the primary benefactor for the organization whose mission is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual or closely related developmental disabilities. There are several events coming up including a golf, tennis and bocce championships, but Dave's favorite is the   Polar Plunge. This year it will be on February 10th at Nats Park. Fundraising teams are forming now. Brrrrrrr.
