CREW Richmond Summer Social Success
|
Thank you to everyone who made the 2018 CREW Summer Social at the Hofheimer Building a huge success! It was a fabulous night of socializing to kick off the summer. The event centered around a live auction led by Todd “Parney” Parnell of the Flying Squirrels. Guests were able to bid on a range of items from artwork to Squirrels packages!
Through your generous donations we were able to raise proceeds to directly benefit Dress for Success Central Virginia. This organization works diligently year after year to offer long-lasting solutions that enable women to break the cycle of poverty.
Please enjoy a gallery of photos from the night below and stay tuned for our next upcoming event. Have a great summer!

CREW Richmond 2018 April Lunch Meeting
by Allison Throckmorton
|
On April 18
th
CREW Richmond was able to take a look back at Richmond’s rich history. Maritza Pechin gave us a brief tour through time with a glimpse into demographics and structures that have paved the way to how we know Richmond today. The term, “Richmond 300,” is a reference to Richmond City’s 300
th
anniversary in 2037, which runs parallel with the 20-year Master Plan.
A Master Plan/City Plan helps Commercial Real Estate professionals understand the shape and the direction of the Richmond market.

CREW Richmond 2018 May Lunch Meeting
by Allison Throckmorton
|
|
Thank you to Tim Hamnett of Baskervill and Amelia Wehunt of Timmons Group for giving a presentation on the latest updates at the 17
th
Street Market in Shockoe Bottom. Tim and Amelia discussed the feedback they received about what the community wanted from the space, as well as design/engineering challenges of the space. It is clear that this space has been well thought out and will be a great addition to the area, providing a space for retail to thrive as well as green space in the middle of the urban landscape. We are excited about the estimated October 2018 completion!

Women Build with Habitat for Humanity
|
|
Seven of our CREW members had the opportunity to participate in Women Build with Habitat for Humanity on May 18
th
. Allison Throckmorton, Robin Cupka, Ginny Johnston, Ann Neil Cosby, Bernadette Coleman, Rowena Fratarcangelo, and Statia Gibson worked hard to clear out insulation and debris from the Richmond home post-demolition. We were even told by the site supervisor that we worked harder and more efficiently than some of his other paid staff – the power of women is real! Stay tuned for upcoming CREW community service opportunities so that we can continue to give back to our community and make a difference!
