Help Emily Clean the Dirtiest Air in the U.S.
After seeing the movie the Lorax, 8 year old Emily became inspired to celebrate Earth Day by planting trees in her San Joaquin Valley community. Emily has a respiratory infection known as Valley Fever and is effected by poor air quality more than most children. The fact that Emily lives in Kern County, home to the worst air in the country, only makes her condition worse. Please visit our fundraiser on Causes.com and donate to help Emily buy more trees to plant in her neighborhood!
Emily and her classmates plant their first tree April 20th to kick off Earth Day weekend.
-April 14th the Delano office hosted another installment in the Smart Valley Places workshop series on transportation justice.
-Attorney Ingrid Brostrom was in Sacramento April 23rd to support the "Solar for All" bill (AB 1990) which passed out of the Utilities and Commerce Committee, its first step in becoming law. The bill will promote the development of rooftop solar panels in disadvantaged communities.
