On the Job Safety & OSHA Regulations

A CT ROAD MASTER PROGRAM REQUIRED WORKSHOP

This workshop will focus on occupational safety and health regulations. General information will be provided on how following these regulations will keep participants safe at work—both on the jobsite and back at the garage. Lecture and discussion will be used along with case study exercises and examples of local best practices to demonstrate how highway departments can work safely and efficiently.

Who Should Attend

This program is designed for any state or local personnel who are responsible for highway maintenance and construction operations.

Highway Maintainers, Highway Superintendents, Road Foremen, Crew Leaders, and Directors of Public Works are encouraged to attend.

Course Instructor

Adam Drummond is the President of National Safety Services, LLC. He is responsible for development and delivery of National Safety Services programs nationally, including environmental, health and safety training and has over 25 years experience in the safety training, consulting and products industry. Adam has designed more that 75 individual training programs for safety and environmental applications.

Understand how OSHA is structured and why OSHA requirements support a safe work environment.

Discuss steps in identifying hazards in the workplace.

Explain why written safety programs are important and what makes a program effective.
