Learning Objectives

In this workshop participants will learn how to:

  • Complete an appropriate pre-job safety inspection; 
     
  • Understand proper procedure for loading & unloading equipment; 
     
  • Describe an efficient method for grading a road. 
Safety & Operations of a Motor Grader
A CT ROAD MASTER PROGRAM ELECTIVE WORKSHOP
This one-day classroom training session covers vehicle safety, vehicle maintenance, daily walk-around inspections and pre and post-shift inspection. 

A demonstration of proper equipment inspection will be held and techniques for efficient grading of roads will also be shared.
Who Should Attend

This program is designed for heavy equipment operators and those who have responsibility for the construction and maintenance of local roads.

Equipment Operators, Highway Superintendents, Road Foremen, Crew Leaders and Directors of Public Works are encouraged to attend. 
Course Instructor

N. Dee Hadfield has been the Project Manager at the  Utah State University LTAP Center for the past 16 years. Dee's background includes 34 years of experience in Public Works with 21 years as a manager of a municipal street department and 13 years as an equipment operator.
