In this workshop participants will learn:
  • To identify the hazards typically found in public works facilities;
     
  • The steps involved in inspection and review of work facilities and methods for compliance with OSHA;
     
  • The scope of the OSHA inspection process and requirements for record keeping;
     
  • How to request participation in the municipal consultation program. 
Expecting an Inspection - Getting Ready for OSHA
A CT ROAD SCHOLAR PROGRAM ELECTIVE WORKSHOP
Workplace safety is a key priority for all public works departments. This class focuses on how to manage those hazards inherent to public works facilities and how to be prepared for an OSHA Inspection. A facility walk-through exercise will be conducted to demonstrate a typical inspection process. 
Who Should Attend
This course is designed for those responsible for the management of public works facilities. Directors of Public Works, Highway Superintendents, Fleet Managers and Foremen are encouraged to attend. 
Course Instructors
Adam R. Drummond is the President of National Safety Services, LLC.  He is responsible for the development and delivery of National Safety Services programs nationally, including environmental, health and safety training and has over 25 years experience in the safety training, consulting and products industry.  Mr. Drummond has designed more than 75 individual training programs for safety and environmental applications.

Representatives from CT OSHA will be at each session to share details on their consultation program.
