Greetings,

Happy Fall! We here at the Creative Arts Team hope that your school year is off to a successful start.

As you may have seen from our recent email updates, CAT is an approved NYSED CTLE vendor . This means that professional development run by CAT now counts towards the  Continuing Teacher and Leader Education (CTLE)   requirements for Professional and Level III Teaching Assistant certificate holders.

The Early Learning Program is offering a variety of professional developments for those who do (and do not) need CTLE hours. Each professional development is 4-hours long, and will provide 4 hours of CTLE credit (if the participant so desires it).

Our current offerings include:
Participants will learn about the power of puppets, when and why to use puppets, the benefits of using puppets with English Language Learners, and the basics of puppeteering.
ELTA
Participants will explore how interactive storytelling is key in developing children's listening, speaking, and language skills as outlined in the  Common Core Standards
Interactive Storytelling
Explore how interactive storytelling practices supports the English Language Learner in developing fluency, confidence, and vocabulary acquisition.
ELP PD 10-24-12
Participants will explore how interactive storytelling is key in developing children's listening, speaking, and language skills as outlined in the  Common Core Standards
CAT Staff Connection
Go deeper into using storytelling to build emergent literacy skills, engagement, and whole group collaboration. Continued overarching goals are to help educators work in a student-centered manner.
Coffee and tea will be provided and all participants will receive a CUNY Certificate of Attendance. To receive CTLE hours, participants MUST COMPLETE the CTLE form during registration.

Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions you may have!
All the best,
The Early Learning Program
