Ruth Tyrol Honored at Fancy Camp Fundraiser
Southern New England's outdoor ministry glitterati were at their most sparkly on the evening of Nov 18 at Fancy Camp, a gala to benefit Silver Lake Conference Center.

More than 80 people were in attendance at Wallingford Country Club to honor Ruth Tyrol, the winner of the inaugural Silver Lake Award. The Silver Lake award recognizes someone who has been shaped by Silver Lake's core values and has used those values in the world beyond camp.

In his remarks introducing the award, Connecticut Conference Minister The Rev. Kent Siladi noted that Ruth Tyrol, in her service to Silver Lake from 1964-1994, actually helped shape Silver Lake's core values.

Transgender Remembrance Vigil Held
The Connecticut Conference Open and Affirming Ministry Team hosted a Transgender Day of Remembrance vigil at the Connecticut Conference Office.

Transgender Day of Remembrance is held each year on November 20th to remember those trans individuals who have been killed as a result of their gender expression.

Annual Meeting voters last June passed a resolution recommending churches mark the day.
