Larry and his wife, Ethel, hosted trips to Rio Parismina Lodge for ten years in-a-row. Larry considered the lodge to be one of the best run lodges in the world. Choose between the Caribbean for abundant large tarpon, plus tuna and wahoo, or the Torteguero National Park jungle waterways and streams for snook, machaca, mojara and snapper. The lodge has four I.G.F.A. world records for snook.
Rio Parismina Lodge employs 21' deep V-hull boats with center consoles, 140 h.p. Evinrude motors, marine radios, fish finders and English speaking guides. Two anglers per boat and guide.

The last two years I've hosted baby tarpon fishing trips at Campeche, a wonderful historic city in Mexico. Campeche is located on the Gulf of Mexico, about six hours SW of Cancun. The people are very friendly, the city is clean, and the baby tarpon fishing is amazing. We stay at the Ocean View, a modern, air conditioned hotel that has a swimming pool, gym, free Wi-Fi and a hot fishermen's breakfast for us each day at 5:30 a.m. Following breakfast, we walk across the road, and get in the boats.
Tarpon Town Anglers has five 23' panga-style boats with newer 60 to 75 h.p. motors, all in excellent condition. We fish two anglers per boat and guide. It's best to use eight weight fly rods with floating lines...

February 23-26, 2014 - Guy Schoenborn hosted
I was at Sailfish Oasis Lodge in Guatemala with Jeanne and Lynn Koenemann, Bud Callahan and Kevin Ferrell. We fished four days for sailfish and had excellent results.
Day one - we raised 14, landing three on flies and three on bait.
Day two - we raised 36, landing eight on flies and nine on bait.
Day three - we raised 22 and landed three on flies and three on bait. Day four - we raised 18 and landed three on flies, four on bait and we also caught two large dorado...

January 25 - Feb. 1, 2014 - Eric and Suzi Schoenborn hosted
The first two days were spent targeting sails, and we found them. Each day as we made our way offshore, we viewed schools of dolphin, turtles, baitfish, and jumping fish. Most days, we didn't have to wait long before a sailfish or dorado started chasing the topwater teasers or baits with an ensuing battle. Each boat rose between 4 to 8 sails daily, with eight sails and seven dorado being landed on the first day. Day two results were similar, as we chased fish in great ocean conditions. Several times we attempted to catch tuna as schools of baitfish and feeding birds indicated it was worth a try. We didn't connect. We found January to be a little early. I can't wait until Suzi and I host a trip next year (2015) during an April time slot when they should be plentiful...
