What's Happening at CUNY

image

Our Emmy-winning TV station got a makeover! Check out the revamped lineup, which includes a show hosted by our Chancellor that you can catch on YouTube here and the student-led “CUNY Uncut.”

CUNY students are working to preserve a burial site for enslaved Africans that is an important piece of New York’s and America’s history. Read more about their efforts, and other projects that are part of CUNY’s initiative to support Black, race and ethnic studies.

This scholarship was co-founded by the Obamas to build the next generation of public service leaders. Apply by March 22.

Life is definitely what you bake of it! A recent CUNY grad kneaded to learn this and other important lessons as she grappled with her identity as an immigrant in grad school.

One grad and Indo Caribbean influencer has over 500K followers on TikTok, collaborated with brands like Disney and Dunkin and founded the first West Indian student org at her college. Learn how she uses dance and content creation to break barriers.

We received more than $12 million in Congressional funding to support an array of projects and programs across nine campuses.

Get free priority tickets to “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” “The View” and “The Tamron Hall Show.” Use promo code CUNY.

CUNY Callouts

Miguel Angel Davila, City College ’21 and CUNY SLU ’23, is passionate about community improvement. He launched his own consulting firm to improve customer outcomes through data-driven research, bridge the data equity gap and support minority start-up business owners. A first-gen college student who earned his degree in anthropology, he also explored a range of leadership roles before enrolling in SLU’s advanced certificate program in community leadership. Now on his way to earning an M.A. in urban studies, Miguel remains passionate in his quest to understand social issues. He’s also working closely with the Center for Independence of the Disabled.

Miguel’s Advice: “Keep going! If you are already enrolled in college, stay enrolled. If you have an undergraduate degree, apply to graduate school programs. Have a master’s? Consider a Ph.D. program. CUNY has provided me with mechanisms to learn and define who I am thanks to my education.”
