Miss Brown's 4th Grade class ventured to San Francisco and our capitol city, Sacramento last week. The students visited the offices of Diana Harkey in the capitol building, panned for gold at Sutter's Mill, explored the Railway museum, took a ferry to Alcatraz and  also visited the Golden Gate bridge. They had fun tasting jelly beans at the Jelly Belly factory and watching movies being made at the Walt Disney Family Museum.

First Annual Burger Throwdown a Huge Success!

CVCS 1st Annual Burger Throw-down was a huge success!  Three contestants battled it out while the six hungry judges waited and watched. At  1:00 pm sharp the burgers were placed in front of the judging panel. Team Flyin' Hawaiian (Rex Dungan & Chad Bowman) took 3rd  place with their Hawaiian Gobbler and  Team Lady Lindsey (Lindsey Foerester) took 2nd place with her Burger Blues and Team Big Dog Daddy (Brett Babick) took 1st place with his Rock n' Rojo Burger.

Thanks to our esteemed judges: Zach Brogdon, Brandon Burger, Don Dallape, Zach Herrick, Tyler Merrick and JC MacRae. The food trucks brought us a bounty of choices for lunch with everything from Burgers, Corn dogs, Funnel Cakes and Baskin Robbins Ice Cream.  All in all, it was a great place to have lunch, visit and be highly entertained - you won't want to miss next year.

Summer Math Refresher Course

Over the summer many students forget what they have learned the previous year. As a result, many students spend the first few weeks of school playing "catch up" trying to re-master concepts they have already been taught.   The Summer Math Refresher Course will give your child an extra boost, as he/ she will review all concepts learned during the previous school year and receive an introduction to the California State Standards in math for the upcoming year.  The course is for all incoming 5th-7th grade students.  Classes meet for four days, for one hour each day.  Any questions, please contact Mrs. Jennings at rjennings@cvcs.org >>Registration Form
Principal's Storytime and Picnic

SPEAKING OF NEXT YEAR......

PACE is seeking parents to serve CVCS on the PACE Board next year. We are looking for people who love God, love the kids, love CVCS and enjoy serving and getting to know other parents. There are leadership roles in four main areas and you will be trained for the specific tasks you will be heading up. We request a two year commitment- the first year to learn, and the second to teach the next person. If you feel led to step up your involvement and use the talents God gave you, PACE is a fun, enriching, challenging and rewarding experience. Not only will you be blessing the school, but YOU will be blessed! Please contact Jo Beveridge for an application at jbeveridge@cvcs.org. If you have questions about the different positions available and what they entail, please contact Julie Rapattoni at  julierapattoni@cox.net
