When: June 1, 2017 from 8-9:30 a.m.
Where: Philanthropy Center (US Bank Bldg., 425 Cedar Street, Waterloo)

Technology companies have changed the way all businesses work. Email, social media, and cloud based computing (to name a few), dominate our workplaces
. But, the tech sector's practice, not
just their products, are influencing the way that companies manage their employees, their work flow and their strategies.
At our June 1
meeting, we'll be joined by one of Iowa's notable technology leaders an
d successful nonprofit founders,
Engelmann. Eric f
in 1999. Today, Eric is a co-found
er and the Executive Director of
in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
BoCo's mission is t
o accelerate world changing ideas, from Iowa.
Eric transferred the strategies and techniques of the tech sector into the DNA of NewBoCo. NewBoCo, founded in 2014, is one of the region's fastest growing nonprofits doubling and tripling their gross revenue, program offerings, and clients in just a few years. Hyper-growth has been accomplished by
employing tools borrowed from the technology and start-up worlds. These methods reward experimentation, fast-failure, clear communication, employee engagement and transparency.
Come to the session to hear Eric's start-up story, and to discover how these innovative tactics could transform the way you think of management and planning.
Eric Engelmann founded Geonetric in 1999, and presently works as the Executive Director of NewBoCo in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

2017 Volunteer Engagement Summit...
The 2017 National Summit on Volunteer Engagement Leadership
Think about your special events, your programs, and your board of directors... How important are volunteers to your organization? If they are important, consider attending this 3-day summit hosted by the Minnesota Association for Volunteer Administration:
July 26-28, 2017
St. Paul, MN
It will be the first national convening of volunteer engagement professionals and members of the philanthropic community, and if you recruit, engage, and/or manage volunteers, then you should be at the table to help shape the discussion.
Advance your own knowledge and skills while helping to discover how we can build a new national presence for leaders of volunteer engagement, tackle the issues that affect our work, and ultimately improve our community impact.
For CVNA members only!
Scholarships Available for the 2017 National Summit on Volunteers
In addition, upon return from the Summit, the Volunteer Center of Cedar Valley will convene attendees for a local summit to share tools, techniques, and information from the conference in hopes to further the development of volunteer engagement resources.
