Hunter's Journey
on the Colorado Trail!
*************
29 Day Hike
Congratulations to Hunter Stafford, age 19, and his Dad, Ed Stafford, age 53, for completing their long hike on the Colorado Trail to raise $ for the CVSA this summer!
The hike began the middle of June at Chatfield Reservoir in Denver, and ended in the town of Durango on Thursday, July 23rd. This trail stretches 486 miles and took 29 days to complete.
Hunter's Fundraiser Efforts: $ 2400.00
Kathleen Adams, CVSA President, met Hunter, Ed and his family in Durango at the end of the trail, took pictures, and spent the evening celebrating at dinner.
Thank you to the Stafford family for all of your support, time and effort in planning this month long event and congratulations again for completing your journey! The $2400.00 raised for our organization will be used to help fund our Adult Guidelines Project. We are so grateful.
Hunter, you are truly an inspiration to all of us!

Go Fund Me Project to Raise $
for the Adult Guidelines for Diagnosing and Treating CVS - Summer 2015
It is so exciting that the CVSA and the American Neurogastroenterology and Motility Society (ANMS) will partner to develop Adult Guidelines!
When CVSA was founded in 1993, it was thought that CVS was a condition of childhood and adolescence. We now know that adults also suffer from CVS. CVS may begin in childhood, and can extend into adulthood. There is also adult onset CVS. As so many adults can attest, the condition causes untold suffering and disability, and often leads to family, school and career upheaval.
With Children's Guidelines already in place thanks to CVSA fundraising, and our strong team of medical advisors, we are embarking on a partnership project that will help adult sufferers around the world. When completed, these guidelines will help doctors and ER personnel know how to better care for CVS patients.
Creating medical guidelines is expensive....and that is where you come in. CVSA is the financial sponsor for these guidelines, but we are asking for your help to join us in funding this project. All donations are greatly appreciated! We will keep you posted with more information on the progress of this project as we move forward.
Please visit our page at: http://www.gofundme.com/CVSAdultGuidelines
Total Amount Raised to Date: $ 2028.00
Thank you from the Board of Directors
at the Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome Association!

Back-To-School!
Please visit our website at:
and click on the 'For Patients' link, then scroll down to read about 'Getting Through School'.
This is always a stressful time for all school-aged children who are affected by CVS. You can also visit our CVSA Facebook Page and our website Message Board for more information and stories shared by individuals and families.
Parents - Make sure to contact your school prior to the first day to let the school nurse and teachers know that your child has CVS and/or migraine headaches. This will make for a smoother transition moving forward throughout the year. Providing them with any information about CVS and medical papers from the child's specialist will also be of help and will certainly raise awareness of this condition.
Best of Luck!
