Dear Families,

Our annual celebration of the end of the program year, the beginning of summer, and our thank you to all the teachers and volunteers who make our programs possible, will be held Sunday, June 8. Join us at 10 am for breakfast on the Third Floor Terrace, and following the 11 am service, we'll be in the same spot for a cookout and concert!

Musician and educator Brook Packard has prepared a joyful program of spirituals and sing-along songs. We'll provide burgers and dogs both meaty and veggie; Please sign up to bring sides and desserts and RSVP by June 4. After lunch, our rooftop playground will be open for play (parents must supervise their children)-and we plan to have it available for parents and kids to use every Sunday this summer following the 11 am service.

Even though Sunday School ends on June 1, the fun and the learning continue with Summer Sundays, our intergenerational program of Christian formation, each Sunday at 10 am from June 15-September 14. Our 2014 theme is "Draw the Circle Wide" and through it, we'll discover how we are connected to each other in families, communities and the wider world as we work on living out our baptismal promise to "seek and serve Christ in all persons, loving our neighbors as ourselves." All ages are invited to join us for breakfast on the Third Floor Terrace and together we will explore this theme in stories, speakers, arts and activities. 

 Our dedicated and hard-working teachers have the summer off, so we ask that families sponsor a Sunday at 10 am. It's simple! Just choose a Sunday that you are available during the 10 am hour and you can bring a project of your own or host an activity that I will provide. Summer Sunday Sponsors are needed for June 22 and June 29, July 15 and 22, and also in August. Please contact me via email and let me know when you are able to host.

This summer, we are excited to be offering Family Lunch and Swim on three Sundays following the 11 am service: July 6, August 17 and September 14. Please mark your calendars now and look for more information closer to each date. We ask for an RSVP in advance so we can plan for the meal and the lifeguard.
