We
wanted to let you know that we will be doing a dinner tasting at Ruth's Chris Steak House on the N.D. tollway, the evening of Wednesday August 15. Last month at The Classic Café we did a tasting entitled " Wines From Anywhere 95 Points and Above". That tasting was very popular. Matthew (GM at Ruth's ) thought it would be fun to offer that tasting in Dallas. We are working with the Chef on Friday. We will have the menu and wine selections ready to send early next week.
We were at Ruth's yesterday tasting Matthew on the 2013 release of Howell at the Moon Cabernet(s). Matthew placed each on his wine list. We now have more available.

Blackberry, blueberry, cassis, a more voluptuous Cab does not exist in Napa. Very big, chewy velvety tannins, big finish with rich blueberry, smoke and chocolate
. Though Parker gives this wine high scores each vintage. He has not yet released scores on the 2013. Matthew, Michele and I all think it will receive at least 95 points, so we are going to put it in the 95 plus point tasting above as a secret bonus and have the guests submit a score.

FYI - The Estate Cabernet is absolutely beautiful. If you have ever bought any of the previous vintages, this is CLASSIC Howell at the Moon. So, elegant with the most velvety finish.
Also, we had appetizers after tasting the Howell at the Moons, not only is it priced great, the burger, bacon wrapped shrimp and ravioli were awesome (ravioli not on happy hour menu, but we had it at the last wine dinner and it is worth it!). A very nice and "cool" (temperature wise) happy hour starting at 4:30. Tell them we sent you!!

125 cases produced, this vineyard is at the very top of Howell Mountain, Parker usually rates the 500 case production Howell Mountain Estate Cab in the mid 90 points. There is to little of the Knoll to send for review. Big, elegant , powerful, blackberry , blueberry. Rivals any Cab from anywhere at any price. SILKY!!
