STUDENT OF THE MONTH
CAITLIN MORABITO

Meet Caitlin, a Services Coordinator at the Dardanup Butchering Company, who is working solidly on her Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety.

Caitlin has been a keen and welcome participant in all the WHS Seminars since she began her study in 2017. She has been able to apply the knowledge and theory of legislation and hazard management in the workplace at DBC, and contribute to helping DBC maintain their high standards of workplace safety.

Her CTS case manager, Jonathan Potter, says that Caitlin has been putting in a major effort to finish her qualification to a very high standard.

Hear from Caitlin herself:

Why did you enrol in the Certificate IV WHS?
"After working at Dardanup Butchering Company for just over two years I realised I had an interest in WHS and in help keeping the work environment safe. DBC helped guide me in the right direction by putting me in a WHS assistant role and enrolling me in the qualification."

How has this study helped you at work?
"This study has really helped me in my role at work over the last 18 months. It has widened my knowledge in WHS and also built up my confidence in this area."

How was your overall experience with CTS?
"CTS has been very helpful and accommodating during my time studying with them. All the staff are lovely to work with. I would recommend their services to anyone."

Can you sum up your CTS Case Manager in one sentence?
"Jonathan has been a very supportive case manager and has made my time studying with CTS very enjoyable!"
WHO KILLED MR STANLEY IS BACK!

This interactive investigative 1-Day course is being delivered in July to a major metropolitan council in July.

The workshop includes a range of exploration activities on the latest prosecutions by WorkSafe, showing participants and employers the current focuses on who EXACTLY is being fined in the event of workplace accidents.

Mr. Stanley is grievously injured while in the course of his work. What evidence is reviewed, and who gets fined?

Does Mr. Stanley get fined, who was doing the job?

Or maybe the supervisor, responsible for training and monitoring the task?

What about the manager, hardly ever on the floor, but tucked away in his office?

Maybe the employer, having overarching duty of care in the workplace?

Maybe not who you think...
