Sample the finest French wines while having your future divined by palm and tarot card readers. Let yourself be guided through an extensive selection of live and silent auction items hosted by Kurt Johnson. Proceeds from the evening will benefit the Alliance Française in its mission to promote French-speaking cultures from around the world in our community. We hope to see you there!

Soirée Littéraire: Se laisser séduire par Proust

Ce qui séduit chez Proust c'est la comédie sociale avec son côté tragique et humoristique. À travers ses personnages, Proust analyse la dynamique du désir et la déraison de la jalousie amoureuse. Les paysages, l'amour sensuel, la peinture et la musique sont des thèmes proustiens qui évoluent sur la scène de l'écriture pour nous offrir un plaisir irrésistible du texte. Navigateurs de la Littérature: Intermediate-Advanced Book Club

The group discusses a different book at each meeting. Read and discuss the selection in French. This group is led by AF volunteer Bridget and AF education intern, Charlotte.

Workshops
Saturday, April 29 from 1-4 pm
Review all past tenses (le passé récent, le passé composé, l'imparfait...) with Karine in this one-day workshop and make for clearer comprehension and expression. These three hours will revolutionize your French! Confirmed with limited space available! Pre-Req: BE5+
Saturday, May 13 from 1-4 pm
Looking for some new ideas for snack, dessert or even as part of a meal ? Damien will share some sweet and savory recipes for cake tout en français. Beginner 2 and above. The date of this class has changed from what was originally published.

High School Scholarships
Each year, Alliance Française Mpls/St Paul awards six local high school freshmen, sophomores and juniors with a one-year scholarship to language classes. The scholarship program covers all membership fees, tuition and materials for the student for one calendar year, a total value of $2,000 per participant. Learn more and apply here. June 5-8: DELF Junior A1-B2 for High School students

The DELF, or diplôme d'études en langue française is an official qualification awarded by the French Ministry of Education to certify French language competency for non-native French speakers. This certification or diploma is valid for life.
These certificates are valid for life. DELF and DALF consist of six independent certificates that correspond to the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

This increase will help to support our programming and our efforts to promote French language and French speaking cultures within our community. Renew your membership prior to July 1 to take advantage of a reduced rate AND help us meet our member goal of 1200 members!

This Saturday morning, April 29, 11:30-12:30, Dr. Johan van Parys will give a tour of one of Emanuel Masqueray's masterpieces, the Basilica of St. Mary, at Hennepin and 17th, in downtown Minneapolis.
