Cake Lace
Cake Lace is a hot new trend for this year's wedding season. Lace add details & a vintage flair to cakes. Creating lace on a cake can be tricky due to their fine detailing and although some designs can be hand-piped, using lace mats makes it much more convenient! Claire Bowman's collection of cakelace offers unique and exquisite designs. These mats uses McCall's magic lace icing mix which is flexible and easy to pull apart to ensure the lace stays intact.

You can use these lace on a variety of baked goods like cakes, cupcakes, macarons and even cake pops!

Directions
  1. Gather all supplies and ingredients needed
  2. Spray mat with non-stick cooking spray to make peeling off lace easier.
  3. Spread pre-mixed lace icing on mat with an angled spatula
  4. Using a scraper, glide over icing to create a smooth and even finish
  5. Continue using a scraper to ensure an even finish
  6. Let sit at room temperature for 4-5 hours or bake it in the oven at 175F for 10-14 mins
  7. Gently peel dried lace icing off mat
  8. Dip a brush in water and brush it over finished lace before placing it on cake to help it adhere
  9. Place lace on cake
  10. Decorate cake to your desire!
