You have received this e-newsletter from the California Coastal Coalition (CalCoast™), a non-profit advocacy group comprised of 35 coastal cities; five counties; SANDAG, BEACON and SCAG; private sector partners and NGO's, committed to protecting and restoring California's coastline through beach sand restoration, increasing the flow of natural sediment, wetlands recovery, improved water quality, watershed management and the reduction of marine debris and plastic pollution. When possible, we try to post articles that are not protected by pay walls.

ASBPA Names 2017 Best Restored Beaches
 
With the beginning of the summer beach season a few days away, the American Shore and Beach Preservation Association (ASBPA) today released its annual list of the nation's best restored beaches. This year's winners are from the north Atlantic, mid-Atlantic, south Atlantic and Gulf coasts. A complete list of award-winning beaches, and more information about beach restoration and ASBPA, is available online at www.asbpa.org.

NWQMC Webinar Series: Diverse Uses of Volunteer Water-Quality Data by States
 
There are diverse uses of volunteer monitoring data. Communities often use data on local levels to identify sites for restoration or screen sites for potential pollution. But how do states use volunteer data? How are volunteer data integrated to help answer state water quality questions? This webinar will explore state data use in Indiana, Michigan, and Virginia and the key building blocks to facilitate data use. Recycling Programs Assistant

The Recycling Programs Assistant will perform various public service and administrative tasks related to I Love A Clean San Diego's (ILACSD), Zero Waste Database, WasteFreeSD.org.  Additionally, the Recycling Programs Assistant will assist ILACSD's Community Program Department, and other departments with various tasks as needed.
