CalPACE Members Testify at Budget Subcommittee Hearings
 
CalPACE representatives participated in budget subcommittee hearings related to the impact of provider rate cuts on February 24, April 24, and May 5.  PACE organizations presented testimony at each of the hearings on the devastating impacts on PACE from the cumulative effect of back-to-back rate reductions in 2012 and 2013 due to changes in the PACE rate methodology coupled with AB 97 provider rate reductions and reductions in IHSS hours.  The May 5 hearing of the Assembly Budget Subcommittee on Health and Human Services provided PACE organizations with an opportunity to provide detailed testimony on the impact of the cuts and to advocate for CalPACEs budget trailer bill language to stabilize PACE rates. Read More.

Study Finds Hospitalization Rates are Lower for PACE Enrollees

This study examined patterns of

 hospitalization in PACE enrollees across the United States. The research found that rates of overall hospitalization, readmission, and potentially avoidable hospitalization rates are lower for PACE enrollees than for comparable populations. Read More.
