Calgary ReggaeFest at Stampede!
Tuesday, June 19, 2012.....
Yes it is true Calgary ReggaeFest will be at the Calgary Stampede in 2012!! Plan your Stampede now and check out the Bell Centennial stage on July 8, 9 and 13 for some great Reggae entertainment.
As part of the 100th Anniversary of the world famous 10 day event, Calgary Stampede organizers asked several prominent Calgary festivals to celebrate with them by showcasing performers representing the music of the different festivals.
"It is a great honour for us to be represented on the Calgary Stampede grounds promoting our festivals," says ReggaeFest producer Leo Cripps. "With festivals like ours, Blues, Jazz, Folk, Sled Island, Afrikadey and Expo Latino, visitors to Stampede from within and outside of our city will realize the diverse cultural mosaic we call home," he continues.
Representing ReggaeFest on the Bell Centennial stage will be Soulicitors from Edmonton on July 8 at 1:00 pm, Calgary's J.k. & the Relays on July 9 at 2:30 pm, and Roots Syndicate on July 13 at 1:00 pm. All performances will be 45 minutes. ReggaeFest 2012 performer Makeshift Innocence will also be gracing the infamous Coca Cola Stage on July 5 at 7:30 pm.
