For this recording, we spent a lot of time focusing on capturing the most natural sound possible from our acoustic guitars. Tom did a lot of research and experimentation with different microphone configurations.  In the photo above you can see the "Blumlein" configuration using two large diaphragm Neumann microphones. We also added "MS" configuration and 3 U87 mics up close on the guitars. This is the first CGT recording that really sounds as if the listener is sitting there in the room with us while we are playing. 

Now that the recording portion of the project is complete, we move onto mixing, mastering and album artwork. To help us complete this project, we are creating a Kickstarter page which will be live soon. We have some great packages that we will be offering, including a DVD made of the earliest unreleased live CGT shows from the CGT's private VHS collection of performances from 1991-1994

At the beginning of August we have some special concerts coming up in the midwest, including several intimate concerts in Illinois and Michigan. On August 7th we will be in the Chicago area at  Pineapple Dance Studio in Forest Park, IL.  August 8th is at Stage Left Cafe in Woodstock IL. August 9th at Rancho Tranquilico in Dexter MI.
