CALL FOR ARTISTS & ARTS ORGANIZATIONS TO PARTICIPATE IN 2018 IMAGINATION CELEBRATION & DIA DEL NINO

The 33rd Annual IMAGINATION CELEBRATION will take place April 13-May 27, 2018. Presented by Arts Orange County and the Orange County Department of Education, the festival includes independent presentations by dozens of participating arts organizations and schools as well as the "1,000 Pieces of Art" student exhibition at South Coast Plaza.  Additionally, ArtsOC's 7th Annual OC Dia del Nino Festival is being expanded this year and will take place at OC Fair & Event Center on Sunday, April 15, presented in collaboration with Media Arts Santa Ana and taking place during the OC Fair's Imaginology weekend.

"Changing of the Guard"
At its January meeting, held at the new OC Music and Dance building in Irvine last Thursday, the California Arts Council (CAC) introduced its new Executive Director Anne Bown-Crawford (center) and elected new leadership of the Council:  Nashormeh Lindo, Chair, of Oakland, (right) and Larry Baza, Vice Chair, of San Diego.  Arts Orange County and Californians for the Arts hosted a reception following the meeting, which was attended by dozens of local artists and arts organization representatives and included a presentation by Media Arts Santa Ana, a California Arts Council grantee under the Cultural Pathways program.  Presentations to Ms. Bown-Crawford were made by David Taylor of Assemblyman Matt Harper's office and Jose Martinez of Assemblyman Steven Choi's office.

Santa Ana Industrial Arts Roundtable - February 9

Join Santa Ana artists, arts organizations, creatives and arts educators for a FREE evening exploring Santa Ana as a a haven for industrial artists -- those who design and build things. 
The Heritage Museum of Orange County is opening their unique gardens and patio for a showcase of Santa Ana's diverse industrials arts talent -- spanning from blacksmiths to brewmasters, car designers to material artists.
