with the Columbia Land Conservancy

Chatham- The land sustains us; it grows our food and nurtures our spirits. For 25 years, the Columbia Land Conservancy has been working to conserve the rural landscapes of Columbia County, New York. Young filmmakers, ages 16-25, are invited to submit original films which celebrate an aspect of the Conservancy’s work. The winning film will be shown at the FilmColumbia Festival, October 2011, and a cash prize will be awarded to the filmmaker. The winner will be selected by a jury comprised of filmmakers, conservationists, and arts professionals.

The Columbia Land Conservancy is a non-profit land trust, which works with the community to conserve the farmland, forests, wildlife habitat and rural character of Columbia County, strengthening connections between people and the land.
