Dear PEN Members and Partners:

The Spring and Summer issues of The Journal of Progressive Education will devote considerable attention to a particularly timely principle from PEN’s Principles of Progressive Education :



We invite submissions from all PEN members and partners for potential inclusion in the Spring and Summer issues. In general, any submissions that correlate with PEN principles or initiatives -- including but not limited to images and artwork, updates on recent and upcoming PEN sponsored events, and pieces that explore related ideas and practices from progressive classrooms and schools -- are welcome. We are particularly interested in historical/archival materials that engage or explore the issue’s theme, as well as contemporary essays that historicize or critically interrogate the relevance of the theme to progressive practice.

Please provide written submissions as .docx files;

Please upload high- resolution images to Google Drive, Dropbox, or Box, and share a link with us.

Submission deadlines:
Please send your work to us on/before Monday, March 19th (for the Spring issue,) or Monday, June 11 (for the Summer issue).
