Call to Action
Say YES to Increasing American Energy Production!
The time is now to support American energy production. The Department of Interior has proposed a new Five-Year plan that will responsibly develop and expand our offshore oil and gas resources by increasing access to over 90% of the total outer continental shelf areas. This is the biggest and boldest plan in over thirty years; however, we need you to COMMENT TODAY in support of increasing American Energy.

This is a tremendous opportunity to create MORE American JOBS, to BOOST our local economies, to generate MORE federal revenues, and to DEDICATE MORE FUNDING to Louisiana’s coastal protection projects through the offshore revenue sharing program.

What is the Five-Year Plan?
"The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) develops the Outer Continental Shelf Oil and Gas Leasing Program (National OCS Program) for oil and gas development in accordance with the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act (OCS Lands Act). This National OCS Program establishes a five-year schedule of oil and gas lease sales proposed for the U.S. OCS ."
Interior Announces Date for Largest Oil and Gas Lease Sale in U.S. History via Department of Interior
WASHINGTON – In support of President Donald J. Trump's America-First Offshore Energy Strategy, Deputy Secretary of the Interior David Bernhardt announced that the Department will offer 77.3 million acres offshore Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida for oil and gas exploration and development. The region-wide lease sale, which is the largest in U.S. history, is scheduled for March 21, 2018, and will include all available unleased areas in federal waters of the Gulf of Mexico. In 2017, offshore leases helped the Department raise a billion dollars more in revenue for the year than was made off energy revenues in 2016.

“Responsibly developing our offshore energy resources is a major pillar of President Trump's American Energy Dominance strategy,” Deputy Secretary Bernhardt said.
