Dear Calvary,

On Thursday evening, Calvary will host four families at our Cathedral through the ministry of Interfaith Hospitality Network. I am always impressed by the grace and love shared between the volunteers and the parents and children of the families we serve. And there seems to be an acceptance that we're all in it together, and that a helping hand along the way is a good thing. And I believe this is the spirit of Jesus moving in the hearts of people and I am thankful.

Sincerely,

Jason

Meet one of Calvary's
2015-2016 University Choral Scholars

CURTIS R. SMITH

Hometown: Macon, Georgia
Current degree program: Doctor of Musical Arts  in Piano Performance (CCM) (Also did BM at CCM!)
Most memorable performance: In Bloomington, Indiana, I had a chance to perform a little known gem of Gerald Finzi, "Eclogue." It is written for piano and string orchestra, but I performed it with Marilyn Keiser on the organ. Dr. Keiser remains to this day one of the most passionate and inspirational musicians and human beings I have ever been fortunate enough to meet, and playing with her was a dream.
Favorite food: Anything that goes with Coffee
Favorite city/place: Prague
Hobbies: Playing and watching tennis, reading (currently engrossed in and befuddled by Moby-Dick). I am also immensely fond of nature and natural parks.

Prayer
B lessed Lord, who caused all holy Scriptures to be written for our learning: Grant us so to hear them, read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest them, that we may embrace and ever hold fast the blessed hope of everlasting life, which you have given us in our Savior Jesus Christ; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

See you at Church!
