Dear Calvary,

The Annual Meeting was a successful event, thank you to all who volunteered and were able to attend.  Thank you to the presenters for another informative meeting.  I also want to thank Duane Lewis and Nan Hauck for organizing the refreshments.  The food was inspiring and delicious.

New Vestry members were elected for a three-year term.  Please congratulate Dave Berger and David Dreith.  Continuing another three-year term is Maris Bernard.  Thank you to Steve Percer and Troy Romantini whose terms ended this month.  Their service to Calvary was immeasurable.

Also please congratulate Dr. Matthew Sauer, Judy Sauer, Bob Hauck, Nan Hauck and Daren Grayton who were elected as Calvary's Diocesan convention delegates.  They will serve Calvary well later this year.

Lastly, Calvary delivered the requested 18-month budget to the Rev. Lynn Carter-Edmands Canon for Formations and Transitions, prior to the annual meeting.  We have been told that the package is within Diocesan guidelines for a congregation of our size.   I will be in contact with her early next week and will let you all know what is gleaned.  Once our budget is approved we can move onto the step in the interim process.

Next Calvary will establish our Interim Search Team, appointed by the vestry.  More to come on this process.

Bless You All,
Daren Grayton

During the 10:30 AM service on January 31st,
Calvary Church welcomes
THE CAPITAL CHORDSMEN
from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio
Craig Courtney, Conductor

The Capital University Chordsmen is an 80-voice men's choir which sings a wide variety of music in multiple concerts throughout the academic school year.

Approximately one third of the ensemble consists of non-music majors. Although the original Men's Glee ensemble flourished through most of the last century, it dwindled and eventually died out in the 1980's. The current men's ensemble was started in 2003 by Kyle Zeuch and Jeffery Delman and was student-led until Dr. Andrew Blosser began directing the group in 2008.

The current director, world-renowned composer, Craig Courtney, took over the baton in 2010 and since that time the Chordsmen have quadrupled in size and have performed world premiers of several of his compositions. The Chordsmen have had the honor of being invited to perform at the 2014 Ohio Music Educators Association in February 2014.  Find out more about the Chordsmen here.

A lmighty and everlasting God, you govern all things both in heaven and on earth: Mercifully hear the supplications of your people, and in our time grant us your peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.  Amen.
