  • No Church School this Sunday, Oct. 4 due to St. Francis's Celebration and Pet Blessing

Dear Calvary,

On Sunday we remember and celebrate the life and ministry of St. Francis of  Assisi.  To honor Francis and his commitment to the poor, please bring canned fruits and vegetables for our support of the food pantry at St. Andrew's in Evanston.  Please also bring canned cat food for our local animal shelter to honor the special relationship that Francis had with animals.

We will also take time  this Sunday to honor the Reverend John Morrison's 50 years of ordained ministry and service to the Church.  Both John and Patsy have been faithful to our parish for so many years and we all owe them an enormous debt of gratitude.  Well done good and faithful servants!

Finally, please know that all pets are welcome  this Sunday.....at all three worship services.....they will be welcomed and blessed....and so will we.

Sincerely,

Jason

Calvary Organ Update
The repair last week to the organ's blower motor was successful, so the instrument was up and running again this past Sunday, Sept. 27. Many thanks to all the local and out-of-town specialists that contributed to the motor's assessment and repair!

M ost high, omnipotent, good Lord, grant your people grace to renounce gladly the vanities of this world; that, following the way of blessed Francis, we may for love of you delight in your whole creation with perfectness of joy; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen .
