Camp Chase Trail - Current PROGRESS

11/9/14:  The trail currently ends at Alton Road, the next section to open will be to Galloway Road.

In late September, the bridge was placed over Hellbranch Run, West of Galloway Rd.  We expect this section between Alton Road and Galloway Rd to be paved late in 2014. (We hear this will happen this week).

Big News!  On Monday the City of Columbus City Council approved $4.2 million to build the 2.9 Miles between Sullivant Ave and Eureka Ave and this project should begin in 2014 and complete in 2015.  (see news links below).

Clearing has commenced in the section leading up to and leading from the trail Bridge over I-270; the prefabricated bridge over the interstate has not been placed yet. This section is between Hall Road and Sullivant Road and is being built by Metro Parks with Righter Construction.   We expect this section to open mid-2015

When the 3 sections above are finished, our only missing parts will be Galloway Road to Hall Road and a small connector between the Metro Parks segment and the City of Columbus segment near Sullivant and Georgesville. We will keep you posted as we get updates.

The best place to access the trail and park a motor vehicle is at the Trailhead in Battelle Darby Creek MetroPark 8465 Alkire Road, GIS: 39.893428, -83.215835 Google Maps Link
