 2014 was an AMAZING YEAR!

The Elephant Piece, a critically acclaimed new musical by Darryl Curry, wowed audiences with its blend of minstrel show mayhem, vaudevillian production numbers and crucial environmental message of ultimate hope.

The Portland Press Herald called it "a musical with surreal imagery and satirical bite...Snowlion Repertory succeeds in delivering a multilayered production that simultaneously entertains and calls the public to action."

Moral & Political Lessons on 'Wyoming' by Vincent Sessa featured stellar performances by 7 of Maine's finest actors in a hilarious, hard-hitting "commitment talk" pitting the forces that would repress free expression by banning plays vs. the unquenchable spirit of Theater.

Portland's new arts and culture newspaper DigPortland praised this "noble-minded, often funny social satire" proclaiming the playwright's "strongest absurdist writing emerges" with "lyrically stirring energy" and "outrageous inventions."

Snowlion Rep received its first state funding with a grant from The Maine Humanities Council
to facilitate an audience/playwright talkback after a performance of Moral & Political Lessons on 'Wyoming.'

Snowlion Rep received a large grant from The Cricket Foundation to support the fourth year of its PLAYLAB, a playwright development group that meets monthly to develop new work for the stage.

2015 promises to be a
SPECTACULAR YEAR!

Written by 12 Maine playwright members of Snowlion Rep's PLAYLAB, The Maine Dish: A Feast of Plays about Food features 17 actors, 12 playwrights, 4 directors, and 1 delicious theatrical event that will take place during MAINE RESTAURANT WEEK 2015!

Performs March 5 through 8 at Portland Ballet Studio Theater.

Brand new plays such as The Clarity of Pizza, Served Hot, Pasta & Poetry, Hungry Like A..., Fast Casual, Swedish Meatballs, and Assorted Greens give unique, funny and moving meaning to the idea of "food!"

The family-friendly musical The Sock Who Lost His Mate by MK Wolfe and Thomas Adams will have its world premiere production in April/May 2015 as one of four shows chosen for the 4th Annual New York Children's Theater Festival, produced by Snowlion Rep! The show will run in April/May 2015 in New York City!

Said the Director of Midwest New Musicals, this show is "a terrific new musical... with charm and tunefulness...the cast portrays dozens of fun, fanciful characters, and the lively score and fast-paced story entertain while getting across the important point that with teamwork great things can be accomplished."
