Canada-BC Job Grant
Now Open to BC Jobs Plan Priority Sectors
The Canada-BC Job Grant is BACK and helps you invest in your workforce, equipping workers with the necessary training to make your business succeed.
The
CJG is
NOW OPEN to applications to
BC Jobs Plan Priority Sectors. In addition, it will accept applications from employers and organizations to train
new or existing employees that are
New Canadians and
Refugees.
Your business could receive
two-thirds of the cost of training to a
maximum government contribution of $10,000 per employee
.

WHO can apply?
All British Columbia private and non-profit sector businesses that have been registered with BC Registry Services for at least year.
Additionally, t
he business must fall in one of the BC Job Plan Top Priority Sectors or employers who plan to train new or existing employees that are New Canadians or Refugees.
If you are self-employed in BC and you can show a link between the needs of your business and the training you are seeking for yourself, you may be eligible for the Grant.

(up to a government contribution of $10,000 per participant/$50,000 per employer)
Employers hiring New Canadians and Refugees
(up to $10,000 per participant)

A refugee landed in Canada; or
-
A protected person entitled to work in Canada; or
-
An immigrant to Canada within the past five years or less.

WHAT Types of Training are Eligible?
As a Delivery Partner for CJG, Bowman Employment Services
will be assisting BC Employers with applications for training that
begins before March 31st, 2016
. Applications must be submitted before start date.
Eligible training is now limited to:
Foundation Programs and Apprenticeship Training are only eligible where seats are available.
For Apprenticeship Training in Levels 2 and 3, participants must be from an
Under- Represented Group in the labour force.

We offer the following services for BC employers:
- assistance with Grant Applications,
- help to assess employee skills needs,
- develop training plans, and,
- co-ordinate training.

Get Youth Working Program
Limited Funding Available
We are accepting applications for new hires. Funding is still available through the Get Youth Working Program.
Have you used the GYW Program previously?
Existing employers who have hired through the program previously, may qualify to hire an additional eligible youth.
The GYW Program offers eligible employers in specified regions a $2,800 hiring incentive to hire eligible youth between the ages of 15-29. Additionally, employers may request up to $1,000 to purchase training for the newly-hired youth.
