Boise, ID --05/01/2018 -- Capital High School is pleased to announce the following coaching appointment.

Rachel Saleen - Capital High School Girls Head Varsity Soccer Coach

Rachel Saleen was born and raised in Boise and graduated from Capital High School in 2011. She was a 3 year varsity soccer player and a two-time team captain for the Eagles her junior and senior year. During high school, Ms. Saleen also played club soccer for the Boise Capitals (now F.C. Nova) and for the Idaho Olympic Development Team. 

Ms. Saleen attended Northwest University in Kirkland, Washington and was fortunate enough to receive a full-tuition scholarship for both athletics and academics. She was a captain for the Women's Soccer Program at Northwest University from spring of her sophomore year to fall of her senior year. She was named First-Team All-Conference by the Cascade Collegiate Conference her junior year and is one of the top scorers for the program to this day.

In college, she gained coaching experience as one of the head coaches for the Special Olympics Program in Seattle, Washington and also led and developed curriculum for a week long soccer camp in Guayaquil Ecuador. Ms. Saleen has spent the last three years with the Capital High School Girls Soccer Program as an assistant for the Junior Varsity Program and the Varsity Program. For her primary work she works part time as the Children's Director at a new church in Boise called Redemption Hill and is also on staff with an organization called Young Life. Coach Saleen is tremendously excited and thankful for the opportunity to take over the Girls Soccer Program at Capital High School.
