CAPTAIN & CO-CAPTAINS!
It's time again for our FREE Captain/Co-Captain Challenge! This tournament is held each Summer Session in recognition and appreciation for all our Birmingham APA Captains and Co-Captains!
OVER $1,000.00 in prize monies and door prizes
will be awarded and given away. You have NOTHING TO LOSE because there is NO ENTRY FEE for all active Captains and Co-Captains!
This is NOT a Scotch Doubles tourney. It is a SINGLES tournament with a twist. Players will be matched up by their 8-Ball skill level (2s play 2s, 3s play 3s, etc.). Some brackets may be combined due to the number of entries. CAPTAIN/CO-CAPTAIN MEETING 9:00 am to 10:00 am
IMPORTANT!!! Our Captains/Co-Captains Meeting will discuss any new changes for the upcoming session and answer any questions regarding our league! Please attend even if you don't play in the tourney.
TOURNAMENT ELIGIBILITY
- Players MUST have at least 5 lifetime matches in either format.
- Players MUST be listed as a current team Captain, or Co-Captain, as of WEEK 8 in this session.
- Players MUST be in good standings with ALL team fees & dues paid up to date.
TOURNAMENT DETAILS
- FREE ENTRY FEE with a limit of 32 entries per skill level bracket.
- Birmingham APA will contribute up to $600.00 CASH in prize monies to be awarded to bracket winners.
- All participants have the option to pay $10.00 to enter a Bonus Cash Pot which will be rewarded to the top finishers of each skill level bracket.
- All players MUST pre-register for a slot to play and sign-in on the day of the tourney.
- Singles tournament matched up by skill levels.
- Modified-Single Bracket - guaranteed to play twice.
- Double Jeopardy "Be-A-3" format - everyone plays as a 3 skill level.
- First round, and rounds on the Winner's side of the bracket, will play a race to 2 in 8-Ball. Rounds on the Loser's side will play a race to 25 in 9-Ball.
- Smack talking and sharking your opponent is allowed. (as long as it doesn't get vulgar or personal).
- There will be NO smack talking or sharking in the final money rounds.
- Number of prizes and places paid will be determined by the amount of entries.
