Career Development Program & HR Circle
Next steps to enable self-supportiveness: Secure career-path jobs

During the 1st-annual Hand Up For Success Corporate Luncheon on March 28, IBM CEO Ginni Rometty and AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson spurred attendees to think about how they and their companies can be part of the solution in changing lives within our community.

AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson (left) and IBM CEO Ginni Rometty speak about transformation and community involvement March 28 during the Hand Up For Success Corporate Luncheon.
Because of a generous grant -- which includes use of their Kenexa Skills Assessment as well as help from a fabulous team of IBMers -- the Career Development Strategic Plan and HR Circle were created. This is huge for our members, who are working toward careers to sustain their families.

In addition, as Accenture has agreed to provide their Skills to Succeed program, Accenture and Briggs Equipment have given grants to partially fund the Career Development Director position. This new staff member will be a liaison between businesses, universities and Gatehouse members. Additional support is still needed to ensure the director's salary for at least two years.

Please consider if your company, family, foundation or group can contribute. As we lay the foundation for implementing this plan, your participation makes a lasting difference in the lives of thousands of women and families in the years to come.

Onward!

Gatehouse Voice: Joy, grace in new clothes
"I left with my kids and the clothes on our back. I left all of my material possessions, as well as my identity, behind. I went into hiding. But now, God needs me back out in front of people to speak about domestic violence, and Keeps Boutique clothed me in beautiful garments. It feels so good to wear clothes that were chosen for me. The new clothes are extra special because they represent my new beginning. My new life, my new purpose. My heart is full of sincere gratitude for all the generous support that helped the next step in my journey for the Lord. Thank you so much for this incredible blessing! Keeps Boutique is not only clothing women in garments, but also clothing them with God's grace." -- from V.
